The International Animation Film Festival and Market welcomed 15,820 accredited attendees (a 19% increase on 2022) from 102 countries.

AT ANNECY 2024, PORTUGUESE ANIMATION IS IN THE SPOTLIGHT 6s3ce

While the streets are still ringing to the sounds of the mariachis after 7 days vibrating to a Mexican beat, the city is preparing to be decorated in sumptuous azulejos patterns.

Director Regina Pessoa, Cristal for a Short Film in 2006 with Tragic Story with Happy Ending (Historia trágica com final feliz), Jury Award and Best Original Music Award for a Short Film, sponsored by the SACEM in 2019 for Uncle Thomas – ing for the Days (Tio Tomás – A contabilidade dos dias) and José Miguel Ribeiro, Director of the feature film Nayola in the 2022 Official Selection, made a video announcement to the public, in the presence of Isabel Corte-Real, Cultural Councilor of the Portuguese Embassy in , to reveal that Portuguese animation will be in the spotlight in 2024.
